Energize Your Drive
Electric vehicles (EVs) are a growing part of the transportation industry, and we're here to help you understand what it means to charge an electric vehicle at your home or business. This fact sheet gets you started, and then below we have more information about our electric vehicle charging program, Energize Your Drive.

With Energize Your Drive, we have EV chargers with integrated metering, rebates for new chargers enrolled in an energy management program, and special incentive charging rates.
Chargers with Integrated Metering
When enrolling a general EV charger in an energy management program, an additional, separate meter is required. Members can, however, purchase a qualified, level-two charger through the Cooperative. Because of our relationship with chargEV®, these chargers have integrated metering equipment, which allows you to avoid the extra costs associated with installing a second meter.
Rebates
Whether you install an EV charger at home with integrated metering equipment or not, you are eligible to apply for a rebate of up to $800. The most important eligibility requirement for this rebate is that the charger is enrolled in one of our energy management programs.
Incentive Charging Rates
EV charging is most beneficial to the electric grid when it is done at night and during off-peak hours. We offer a variety of options, giving members the opportunity to choose the incentive rate that works best for their charging habits.
Program Details
By purchasing an EV charger with integrated metering through People's Energy Cooperative, members can alleviate the cost of installing an additional metering socket. This is available as a result of our chargEV® partnership.

There are a variety of incentive rates available for members charging their EVs at home. Participating in any of these rates may require a second meter to be installed which would add an additional monthly basic service charge of $6.00.
